1909 – 1970. Greenwood studied at the Art Students League with John Sloan and George Bridgman. She worked for the NY Times creating sketches of theater people. Her art reflected her travels of the southwest, Mexico, China, West Indies and India. In Mexico she assisted Diego Rivera with a mural and returned to the US in 1936; she was commissioned to paint several murals, especially through the government’s WPA program. During WW II she was an artist war correspondent and created works for the Army Medical Corps.
