Sol Wilson immigrated to America from Poland (Vilno, Russia) in 1910. Painting trips to Rockport and Provincetown, Massachusetts inspired his marine themes. He was a Works Progress Administration muralist and taught at the American Artists School and the Art Students League in New York. His work can be found in the Smithsonian American Art Museum, Phillips Collection, Brooklyn Museum of Art, and the Whitney Museum of American Art.
