Douglas Holleley

Writer, book artist, book designer, and photographer Douglas Holleley works at the intersection of digital technology, photography, and the book. Born in Australia, he studied at Visual Studies Workshop in Rochester, New York, where he graduated with a Master of Fine Arts Degree. His PhD thesis examined an amusement park through the medium of photography. In 2001 he wrote and designed Digital Book Design and Publishing which was published by his own Clarellen Press in cooperation with the RIT Cary Graphic Arts Press. A 2005 photographic project interpreted art works in the Rochester Memorial Art Gallery by juxtaposing images of fragments of works in the collection and resulted in an exhibition, a book, and limited edition portfolio of photographs under the title “Better Things.”
