Frank Craig (1874â€“1918)was a painter and illustrator of contemporary and medieval historical subjects. Born 27 February 1874 at Abbey Wood, Kent, he studied at Lambeth School of Art and Cook's School, Fitzroy Street; He was a pupil of E. A. Abbey at the R.A. Schools 1895â€“8. He exhibited regularly at the R.A. from 1895 to 1916. Craig worked as an illustrator for The Graphic from 1895 and for other periodicals. He is most known for illustrating the poems of Rudyard Kipling. He died of tuberculosis at Cintra, near Lisbon, 9 July 1918.
