Rockwell Kent

Rockwell Kent’s paintings, woodcuts and lithographs often depict rugged natural scenes set in harsh northern climates. Kent’s career was varied, and he worked in trades as varied as drafting, lobstering, and carpentry. Kent’s political views led to his U.S. passport being revoked in the 1950s, until he successfully sued to have it reinstated – his case ultimately went before the Supreme Court.
